(R,S)-Anatabine is a minor tobacco alkaloid found in the Solanaceae family and can be used for the detection of specific markers in tobacco use. (R,S)-Anatabine is an agonist of the α4β2 and α6/α3β2β4 subunit nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs).
