Immunogen
This antibody was produced from a rabbit immunized with the KLH-conjugated peptide derived from Drosophila Relish. The IgG fraction of immunized serum was purified by affinity chromatography.
Background
The NF-kB-like transcription factor Relish plays a central role in the innate immune response of Drosophila. Relish is a bipartite NF-kB precursor protein, with an N-terminal Rel homology domain and a C-terminal IkappaB-like domain, similar to mammalian p1 and p15. Unlike mammalian NF-kB proteins, Relish is activated by endoproteolytic cleavage to generate a DNA-binding Rel homology domain (545 a.a.) and a stable IkB-like fragment (426 a.a.).
