Immunogen was a synthetic protein derived from Human PAI-1. This antibody was produced from arabbit immunized with the immunogen. The IgG fraction was purified from rabbit serum followed byProtein A/G affinity chromatography.

Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor 1 (PAI-1)Also known as SERPINE1, a 45kDa serine protease inhibitorand member of the serpin family, which acts as the primary inhibitor of tissue plasminogen activator(tPA) and urokinase plasminogen activator (uPA), and hence fibrinolysis. Increased levels of PAI-1 areassociated with diabetes, cardiovascular disease and an increased occurrence of thrombosis in obesity,and can be induced by obesity related factors including insulin, glucose and VLDL (very-low-densitylipoprotein).
