Additional Information
Human Cardiac Fibroblast is an important heart component that provides structural support for cardiomyoctes. They synthesize extracellular matrix, growth factors and cytokines during growth. In addition, they also interact with myocardial responses to injury and pathophysiological conditions such as scar formation at sites of myocardial infarction, cardiac fibrosis and cardiac hypertrophy. These cells are ideal models for study in cardiac matrix response modeled by physiological and pathological stressors.
