Gene Knockout Cell Lines
A gene knockout (KO) cell line is a powerful research tool that allows the identification of a gene’s function through the loss-of-function phenotype.
Our partner EdiGene has developed an innovative and highly efficient CRISPR/Cas9 approach to design, develop and validate gene knockout in most commonly used human cells such as HEK293T, HeLa, HCT116, HepG2, A549 and Jurkat to speed up your research and save research money.
Over 2,000 ready-made knockout cell lines (Edi-G KO Cell Lines) are provided. The included parental control enables disease-related gene function and pathway analysis in isogenic cell lines. To validate gene knockout, the target region of each Edi-G KO Cell Line is sequenced twice to ensure each allele of the target gene has an insertion/deletion mutation but not an in-frame mutation.

Gene Knockout Cell Lysates
Validating an antibody’s specificity is crucial to ensure the absence of non-specific binding and, therefore, the highest level of functionality. Testing antibody performance using genetically modified samples is one way to verify that an antibody recognizes a specific target. EdiGene’s KO Cell Lysates are designed to be used as negative controls for antibody testing by Western Blot analysis and ultimately to validate antibody specificity.
MET Monoclonal Antibody Validation using MET Knockout Cell Lysate
10 ug each of the Edi-G MET Knockout Cell Lysate (Cat# # L0018998301-EG) and of the parental HeLa Cell Lysate were used in Western Blot analysis to show the specificity of a MET Monoclonal Antibody (Cat# UM800082-OR). MET was detected at ~145 kDa. The results confirm the specificity of the antibody. Data were normalized using an anti-ß-actin antibody as loading control (1:500).
