Mycoplasma Detection

Contaminating mycoplasma in cell culture bind to cell membranes and cause severe difficulties in doing any experiment or cellular production process related to the cell membrane, including membrane receptor interactions and membrane fusions. The very strong binding of mycoplasma to the cell membrane induces non-specific signals through cellular membrane receptors. These non-specific signals are causing fault results and lead to misinterpretation of the results. Examples are transfection, cell signaling, immune response, stem cell research, primary cell culture & many more.
