Dear Researcher,

The glycocalyx, literally meaning sugar coat, is an extracellular polymeric coating surrounding many prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. It consists of glycoproteins, glycolipids, proteoglycans and glycosaminoglycans. The constituents of the glycocalyx play an important role in the process of cell signaling, virus transfection and immunity. Changes of the glycosylation on the cell surface have been linked to numerous cellular diseases, most notably in several cancers.

Taking advantage of advancements in microarray technology developed for antibody arrays, our partner RayBiotech has developed glycobiology arrays to help you

  • Identify and profile the glycans in your samples
  • Determine whether your biomarker of interest has glycan moieties
  • Find specific glycan binding ligands in biological samples
