Transfection of primary rat hippocampus cells.
Primary rat hippocampal cells were transfected with 0.5 µg and 1.0 µg of GFP expression plasmid using NeuroFECT Transfection Reagent. Forty-eight hours post-transfection, the cells were assayed for GFP expression by FACS analysis (see also pdf link below).
How does it work ?
During transfection, the polymer/DNA complexes (polyplexes) are endocytosed into the cells, where the polymer is biodegraded into small non-toxic molecules. The ability of NeuroFECT Transfection Reagent to biodegrade in vivo means there is essentially no cytotoxicity and therefore delivery of macromolecules into cells is maximized.
The reagent is available in two sizes.
NeuroFECT Transfection Reagent is shipped at room temperature. For maximum stability, store reagent at 4°C upon receipt. If stored properly, the hydrated NeuroFECT Transfection Reagentis stable for 6 months.
