Red Fluorescent Proteins (RFP s)

Red Fluorescent Proteins

A large selection of red fluorescent proteins with colors ranging from red-orange to near-infrared and optimized for different applications is offered.

TurboFPs
• Superbright fluorescence
• Very fast maturation
• Optimal for cell labeling

Red fluorescent TurboFPs are fluorescent proteins with colors ranging from red-orange to near-infrared characterized by superbright fluorescence and superior fast maturation. These proteins are recommended for applications requiring fast appearance of bright fluorescence, including cell and organelle labeling or tracking promoter activity. The far-red marker TurboFP635 is ideal for whole body imaging applications.

TagFPs
• Bright monomeric proteins
• Excellent performance in fusions
• Wide color palette

Red fluorescent TagFPs comprise monomeric fluorescent proteins that are optimized for protein localization, protein interaction studies and stable expression in long term cultures. They can also be used for other cell labeling applications.
Red fluorescent TagFPs demonstrate successful performance in fusions with cellular proteins and can be expressed in various heterological systems. In combination with other fluorescent proteins, they provide unique possibilities for multicolor labeling of subcellular structures.

NirFP
• Near-infrared fluorescence with emission maximum at 670 nm
• Extremely high photostability
• Fluorescent signal is easily distinguished from background fluorescence

NirFP (scientific name eqFP670) is a red-shifted variant of TurboFP635 (Katushka). NirFP is characterized by a strong bathochromic shift, with excitation and emission peaks at 605 nm and 670 nm, respectively. It is currently the most red-shifted fluorescent protein available, with approximately half of emission falling in the infrared part of the spectrum.
NirFP is recommended for multicolor applications. It can also be used for whole body imaging utilizing long wavelengths for excitation (e.g., 633 or 635 nm laser lines).
